Smoky Mountains Visitor CentersThere are several Smoky Mountains visitor centers in the national park to provide resources and facilities to help you get the most out of your visit to the Smoky Mountains. Your visit to the Smoky Mountains National Park should always start with a visit to one of the several visitor centers. There you can pick up a park map, get questions answered by a park ranger, purchase books or park guides and see exhibits about the Smoky Mountains.

There are three Smoky Mountain visitor centers located in the park located at Cades Cove, Sugarlands and Oconaluftee. There are also four visitor centers located outside the park in area towns. The centers are everyday, year round except Christmas Day. Below are the different Smoky Mountains visitor centers:

The Cades Cove Visitor Center is located inside the park on the Cades Cove Loop Rd. near the midpoint of the 11 mile road. You can check at the visitor centers about ranger led programs. There is a bookstore, shop and restrooms available. There are indoor and outdoor exhibits of the life and culture of the area mountain life. There are also several historic sites including a grist mill that operates spring through fall, the Becky Cable house and other structures.
