Pops On The River Has the Best Seafood in the Smokies!
Pops On The River is a quiet, out of the way, restaurant located in
Sevierville. It is on the right hand side of the road prior to getting
into the busy sections of Pigeon Forge. But if you are in the mood for
some good seafood, then Pops is well worth the drive! What we usually
do is on the day we have something planned to do in Sevierville, we
choose that day to eat at Pops On The River!
The atmosphere at Pops is very quaint. The decor almost reminds you of
a catfish shack with a Huckleberry Finn flavor. The walls are decorated
with a fishing theme including many pictures of fish that were caught
by locals and I assume the owners of Pops. I’ve never asked if
the fish pictured were actually caught in the local waters but if they
were, I’m bringing my fishing pool next trip! Those are some of
the biggest catfish I have ever seen. The restaurant itself is located
along a river which you can see from the restaurant windows.
Every time that we have eaten at Pops On
The River, the service has been excellent. The waitresses are very
friendly and aim to please. The food is out of this world. Pops is
famous for their catfish but surprisingly all the seafood they serve is
excellent. They have all the seafood favorites such as fried oysters,
crab, crab legs, shrimp, flounder and salmon. For those that do not
want seafood, Pops On The River also serves steaks, chicken and ribs.
The prices are reasonable and there is plenty of parking.
