Memories Theatre Presents Elvis and Friends

The Salute to Elvis show stars Will Stiles regularly but there are guest Elvis’ throughout the year. The Tributes to Legends portion of the show features such acts as Barney Fife, Buddy Holly, The Blues Brothers, Cher, Loretta Lynn, Kenny Rogers, Tim McGraw, Rod Stewart, The Judds, Garth Brooks, Patsy Cline, Tom Jones, Neil Diamond, Conway Twitty and Johnny Cash just to name a few.

How good is the show? Well, a lot depends on who is performing the week you are in Pigeon Forge. Some tribute artists are better than others. Chances are you will not like every artist you see at your show but there will be enough good ones to make your visit worthwhile. When you are talking about tribute artists shows (they don’t like to be called impersonators) it is all in one’s taste. I might like the Cher performer but you may go see the show and not like Cher.

The show that we went to had some very good performers. We loved Buddy Holly, Kenny Rogers, The Judds, Roy Orbison and Neil Diamond was alright. But there was a couple that we were not too impressed with but overall the show was pretty good. The Elvis tribute was pretty good but we wished he had been more interactive with the crowd. And I’m not sure if he still appears at the Memories Theatre, but we saw Charlie Hodge, the long time best friend of Elvis that used to bring his scarves and water on stage during his performances. That was a real treat. We were able to meet him and the other performers after the show.

In addition to the artists we saw at our show in 2004, I have saw reviews and can tell you other folk’s thoughts on some of the other performers. Kenny Rogers, The Blues Brothers, Conway Twitty, Barney Fife, Jerry Lee Lewis, Tim McGraw, Johnny Cash, and Buddy Holly were all very good. Dolly Parton, Rod Stewart, Garth Brooks not so good.

There are several shows in Pigeon Forge that I would go see before this one but if you are into these type of tribute artists shows, then this one will be worth your money.
